Mike Regan

Mr. Regan co-founded TranzAct Systems, Ltd. in 1984. Prior to the sale of its freight payment group to Schneider National in March 2000, TranzAct was among the largest privately held logistics information companies in the country. Subsequent to the sale of the Freight Payment Group, Mr. Regan remained the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of TranzAct Technologies, Inc.
Mr. Regan is extremely active and well known within the logistics industry. He serves on the Boards of numerous industry groups such as the American Society of Transportation & Logistics, where he is a Distinguished Logistics Professional (DLP), National Industrial Transportation League (NITL (opens new window)), the National Association of Small Shippers, where he is the Chairman of the Advocacy Committee, and the Transportation Intermediaries Association, where he his Chairman of the TIA Foundation (opens new window). He is also very active in several key industry organizations, such as the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP (opens new window)). Mr. Regan is very active within other professional organizations as well. He is a graduate of YPO where he was a Chairman of the Chicago Chapter and served on the International Board of Directors. He is a current member of CEO, WPO and L3.
He has received numerous honors. In 1995, Mr. Regan was inducted into the Chicago Area Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame and was recognized as a Finalist in the Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of The Year Contest. In 2002, he was named Delta Nu Alpha’s Transportation Professional of the Year. In 2003, he was named as one of the 100 Irish American Executives in Irish America Magazine’s “Business 100.” In 2005, he was named by DC Velocity as one of the “Rainmakers” who has a demonstrated track record of achievement that has distinguished him from the crowd in the Logistics field. Also in 2005 he was named “Executive of the Year” by the National Industrial Transportation League (NIT League) and “Member of the Year” by NASSTRAC in 2008.
Mr. Regan has been a featured columnist in industry periodicals including Traffic World, has published several articles, has been quoted in industry periodicals such as DC Velocity and Logistics Management, where he is also a featured blogger, and has spoken throughout the country on numerous industry related topics and the 'Sustainable Career.' He actively represents TranzAct within the industry and keeps abreast of key developments in the areas of logistics, distribution and supply chain management.
Prior to starting TranzAct, Mr. Regan worked for the Bank of America, PriceWaterhouse, and the Union Pacific Corporation. Mr. Regan is a CPA and has a BSBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Jean Regan
President, TranzAct Technologies, Inc.
Jean joined the company in 1987 as Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer, and became President in Spring 2000. In this role, Jean provides strategic direction and executive management, and oversees the administrative, operational and financial activities within the company. She oversees the Information Technology group and Customer Service and Operational groups, including strategic initiatives, new product development and enhancements. She directs the financial aspects of the corporation, including all corporate banking and investments and Human Resource activities, including corporate structure and employee benefits.
Prior to joining TranzAct, Ms. Regan was a staff accountant, then Senior Manager at KPMG, a big five public accounting firm. She was selected for participation in a prestigious internal control review team, which reviewed work in other KPMG offices. She was promoted to Group Administrator, where she scheduled 80 professionals in audit engagements during her two years in this position.
Jean left KMPG after 9 years and joined a privately held lumber and hardware operation. As Executive Vice-President, she oversaw the operations, finances and accounting.
Ms. Regan has a BS in Accounting with high honors from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and a Masters of Management Degree with a Minor in Finance from Northwestern University. She is actively involved in Vistage (formerly known as TEC, The Executives Committee), the AICPA, the Illinois CPA Society, is a Member of the Board of Directors for Sentry Insurance, a Member of the Board of Directors for L3, a Member of the Board of Directors for the United Republican Fund and is the Vice Chair at her Church. She served as a Committee Chairperson on the Marketing Committee for the Solheim Cup in 2009 at Rich Harvest Farms, Sugar Grove, Illinois.
She has served on the Board of Directors’ President of Fellowship Housing Corporation and the missions Committee with her church. Other interests include a Spousal forum Group with the Chicago Chapter of the World President’s Organization and Homes of Hope, an annual home building project for the underprivileged in Mexico.
