Key Account Manager

TranzAct Technologies’ primary solutions include freight audit and payment, LTL and TL solutions, and transportation and sourcing management. Key Account Manager

The Key Account Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of key accounts, while building and coaching a team. The Key Account Manager has an external role, liaising with decision-makers in the customer organization to assess their needs and provide relevant products and services, and an internal role, planning sales activities to achieve targets for each account. They are also responsible for developing a retention strategy, conveying their vision to the team and executing the plan.


• Mandatory minimum 3 years transportation experience required
• Superior written, presentation, and interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and interact at all levels within the customer’s organization
• Strong ability to persuade, motivate and influence others
• Proven leadership skills and work ethic, as well as attention to detail
• Ability to work independently but also multi-task in a collaborative environment
• Successfully prepares, directs and leads client meetings, including face-to-face and via web conferencing

Account Planning

The Key Account Manager develops a strategic plan to maximize client retention and ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction and employee satisfaction. The Key Account Manager identifies the important decision-makers, sets out a contact strategy for building relationships with decision-makers and outlines revenue targets for each product that the organization sells to the account.

Relationship Management

The Key Account Manager is the primary owner of the customer relationship. A successful Key Account Manager influences decision makers at the customer at various levels, and leads the team internally to execute the customer’s objectives and plans. The Key Account Manager sets the expectations with the team, defines the client 3/6/12 month goals and monitors the progress, reporting each milestone to the client. They are also a vital part in team building and setting the culture of the organization.

Customer Loyalty

The Key Account Manager works with customer service and analysts to see that the customer receives the highest standards of service from all parts of the organization. They also monitor the marketplace and identify opportunities to implement for our customers. By building strong relationships and maintaining customer satisfaction, the Key Account Manager aims to create a level of loyalty that competitors find hard to overcome while building a strong high performing team.
